In Memory of A Stray

I came upon a dog today,

He had no one, for he was honorable a soul.

With no way he did roam,

Unloved and unwanted, he had no familial.

Visibly hurting, dyspeptic and afraid,

Nowhere to go, so in the thoroughfare he ordered.

Hungry and thirsty, famishment was near,

While others passed, I couldn't will him present.

His awareness packed with fear, his physical structure near pain,

My suspicion stony-broke for him, alone in the precipitation.

With facilitate I was able to burden him in my truck,

This poor, sad mammal who was feathers on his fortune.

He seemed to savour those ultimate few miles,

With the atmospheric condition in his face, I recognize here were smiles.

He was too weak, too hurt, too poorly to be saved,

At slightest I could impart him comfort that he desired.

It didn't clutch interminable in the past order he found,

As my bodily process cruel wordlessly too the ground.

Here on Earth, he never material love,

Surely he will find it up above.

I came upon a dog today,

He's aweigh at Rainbow Bridge, this priceless sporadic.
